Artist's Description
Iconic Trounce Alley beside the Tapa Bar, Victoria BC 11"x14" Acrylic on Canvas in the rain during Covid restrictions in January 2021This thoroughfare was created by the architect Thomas Trounce in 1859, through his property between Broad and Government Streets, in response to the government's refusal to extend View Street to the waterfront.Form the New York Times: "In Victoria, British Columbia’s quaint capital city, major development seems to be happening everywhere, from construction of condominium complexes to the refurbishing of grand hotels. The Tapa Bar has been operating in the Alley for 25 years and now includes Bodega and Poco Bars.
