Description
Famous Waddington Alley, home to Il Terrazzo Restaurant in Victoria BC, 11x14 Acrylic on Canvas.
Waddington alley, which runs between Yates and Johnson streets, near Wharf Street, was named for Alfred Waddington, who created it to provide access to three lots he owned during the gold rush of 1858. Today pedestrians step back in time when they enter the short narrow lane connecting the lower ends of Yates and Johnson. Waddington Alley is the only street in Victoria still paved with wood blocks, an early pavement common in the downtown core. ll Terrazzo Restorante has been a landmark in the Victoria dining scene for more than 25 years

Hi Scott. I own an Airbnb in the building on the left in your painting. I call it Morley's Red Umbrella, inspired by your painting (It is hanging on our wall). I supply a red umbrella and encourage guests to try to replicate your painting with their camera! Thank you :)
